Andrea Travassaros

I was born and grew up in Brisbane, and now I live in regional city of Albury, and have done so now for more than 35 years. I create because I genuinely need to: it’s how I relax, escape, adventure and explore. I’m a happily distractable artist who follows whatever idea or shiny concept that grabs me, diving deep into a series until the next fascination arrives. I work mostly in acrylic painting and collage, moving between loose expressionistic pieces, abstracts and still life depending on what’s lighting me up at the moment. I’m currently a resident artist at Art Gallery on Ovens in Wangaratta, an art‑workshop teacher, and an everyday maker who believes creativity is something we all have inside us. Helping others tap into that spark is one of my greatest joys.
