About
I am a proud Gamilaori women living in rhe Albury Wodonga region in NSW.
My connection to my culture and country grounds me, it’s in my blood it’s who I am.
My art takes me back.in time and allows me to link together stories from days gone when my elders walked this land every stroke every weave links to my song lines.
I am strengthened by my community and family and guided by my ancestors and elders.
I have lived worked and practised my art in this area for 50 years.
I am well known for my painted accessories and art work within the region..
I am an Elder, a mother, an aunt a grandmother and a mentor.
My career path is in Education Health and well-being.
I am a multidisciplinary artist with a diverse range of mediums.
I love to paint sculpt draw print weave, make clothes and jewellery and do woodwork.
I am also a writer, actor,singer dancer and photographer.
When i paint my mediums are from natural fibres to rich paints mixed with ochre that draw the viewer in. My grasses are from local river beds and wood from our rich land.
My art style is contemporary and natural.
With strong links to my family songlines etched throughout the art work.
i also love to print.
My culture is very important to me and it finds me in schools, universities in the community and whenever I can share my culture with people to help bridge any gaps.
I enjoy collaborative work that allows everyone to be part of the journey.
I run weaving and art work shops along with possum skin cloak workshops within the area, while doing this I beleive we come together and learn from each other.
Every phase of my art is a journey full of yarns people, places, cultural knowledge good food and stunning art pieces.
