The Mayday Hills Art Society is a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation dedicated to supporting artists in the northeast. It is located in a two storey building of the old Mayday Hills asylum, Beechworth and is managed by a full-time volunteer group. It includes an art library/gallery, 15 studios, functions and teaching spaces and the Upstairs Playhouse theatre. Its main aim is to provide fit-for-purpose studio spaces for creative practitioners and regular activities for its growing membership. These include art talks, science talks, films, exhibitions, art tours and workshops.
